Light Soil and vacuum once a week, have your carpets cleaned every 12 to 18 months by your local  Carpet Cleaning Professional, or per manufacturer warranty

Normal Soil (families with children) vacuum 1 to 2 times per week, have your carpets cleaned every 6 to 12 months, IE: annually

Heavy Soil (families with pets) vacuum 2 to 4 times per week, have your carpets cleaned every 3 to 6 months, IE:  Semi-annually

Extreme Conditions (large families, multiple pets) vacuum daily have your carpets cleaned every 3 months, IE:  Four x-annually
