To Clean or Replace?

There are times in our business when the customer may ask us to give an evaluation of a carpet in a rental home, or apartment that has been abused over the years. The big question is should we clean the carpet or replace the carpet.

If there is furniture or housewares and possibly debris on the carpet. It may be a good idea to have everything removed first. Vacuum the carpet. This way you can give your customer a true evaluation. Be sure to write your findings and take photographs throughout the home.

If the carpet has to be replaced, your customer will certainly appreciate all you have done. If you can clean and save the carpet, let them know that also. We are all here to help our customers make the most of their rental properties. To Clean or Replace, that is the question today.

Partner your Business

Your Carpet Cleaning Business is growing leaps and bounds, but you only have limited equipment to help your customers. If you get a large building in excess of 10,000 square foot you may have to turn it down, or take several days to get the job done and having to reschedule your regular customers. Worse yet, you are in the middle of the job, and get a call for an emergency cleaning. What is the solution.

The best solution I found is not to treat your competition as competition. What do I say this? Because “your competition can be your biggest asset.” As a Home Town Professional Carpet Cleaner we all have our specialties and niches. But if we are lacking some of the personnel or some of the higher cost equipment to do a large job, “Partner Up” with one of your competitors. You most likely know each other already, and have known each other for years.

I have partnered up with a Nationwide Chain. I give them the large multistory buildings, they in return give me the private residential homes and small offices. This has increased both of our businesses. If you are interested in finding out more, drop me a note here.

Continue growing your business and “Partner your Business!”

Summer Carpet Cleaning

Summertime Carpet Cleaning is always the best time to have those dingy carpets looking like new again. One of the best reasons to do this is because of the summertime heat. This is very convenient for your carpets to dry much faster. At this time of year, the heat may be your best friend when it comes to drying time. This also depends on the process used for cleaning your carpets. Most of the time, different times of the year and humidity levels make a remarkable difference in drying time.

There are Carpet Cleaning processes out there that take only a couple of hours any time of year. The summer heat may cut down that time dramatically. If you have been thinking about carpet cleaning. Call your Professional Home Time Carpet Cleaner today, while it’s “Hot!”

I’ll Clean those Carpets Myself…

Here we go…You see one of those “Do it Yourself Carpet Cleaning” TV Commercials. You tell yourself, I can do that. I’ll get those carpets cleaned in no time at all. Finally the day arrives, the package gets delivered to the front door early in the morning, you bust open the boxes, your Handy Dandy Carpet Cleaning Machine is all put together. There is another box of all the cleaning solutions. You read the instructions carefully. Load the machine with the recommended cleaning solution. Fill it with water,  close the lid. Turn the Handy Dandy Carpet Cleaning Machine on. Away we go, seems to be easy at the beginning, finally getting the hang of it, The carpets are damp, the vacuum is working fine, The vacuum tank is filling up with dirty water. Made about 12 passes. It’s time to empty the vacuum dirty water tank, and refill with cleaning solution and water. Okay, no problem…begin cleaning again, 12 more short passes and repeat the process. Look around and realize this is a big room, it’s not coming out as clean as I thought. It’s time to go over it again, here I am (4 hours later) still in the same room. At this rate you finally realize, “I’ll be cleaning carpets in this house for the next 4 days. Maybe this was not such a great idea after all.

If this is your story, Instead of ” I’ll Clean those Carpets Myself…” you may consider calling your Hometown Professional Carpet Cleaner, where they will take the pain out of carpet cleaning.

To Dye or Not to Dye?

When your carpet begins to age you may notice “Gray Areas” or “Sun Bleached” lines. Your Hometown Professional Carpet Cleaner is called to the scene to clean your carpets. When they are gone and your carpets are dry, you may see “gray areas” in your carpet. Just what are those “gray areas?” You may ask yourself.

We must go to the beginning when the carpets are manufactured. Before the dyes are added to your carpet from the factory, your carpets are gray. This  coloring process may take place at different stages of production, depending on the desired visual effect. Some carpets are put into vats of water after production and boiled while dyes are mixed into the container. This is known as the Beck Process. Another continuous dyeing method, rolls and sprays dyes onto finished carpet. Still another, pre-dyeing, takes place before the carpet is processed. The actual yarn that will be used in the tufting process is dyed beforehand, which allows for uniform color.

Before complaining about “Gray Areas,” or “Sun Bleaching” call and ask your Professional Hometown Carpet Cleaner if he has a solution to your carpet problem. They may recommend dying your carpets or a mild tint added to your carpet.

So remember:  To Dye or Not to Dye, It’s up to you.
